Our Story

Built on the Belief That Financial Knowledge Should Be Within Everyone's Reach

Fundwise was established in Kuala Lumpur with a clear purpose: to provide structured, accessible financial education to everyday Malaysians — without pressure, without jargon, and without judgement.

Who We Are

A Practice Founded on Respect and Structured Thinking

Fundwise was founded in 2019 by a small group of financial educators who had grown frustrated with the way personal finance was typically discussed in Malaysia — either as a dry compliance exercise or as an aggressive sales pitch for financial products. They wanted to create something different.

The practice was built around the idea that most people, given the right framework and a patient guide, are fully capable of making thoughtful decisions about their own money. Our role is not to tell clients what to do, but to help them understand their options clearly so they can decide for themselves.

Based in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, we serve individuals, couples, and organisations across Wilayah Persekutuan and the Klang Valley.

Our Mission & Values

Clarity over complexity

We translate financial concepts into plain language that helps people make sense of their own situations.

Dignity in every conversation

Every client is treated with respect, regardless of their starting point or the difficulty of their situation.

Structure as a tool

We believe that a clear framework — not willpower alone — is what helps financial habits stick over time.

No hidden agenda

We do not sell financial products or earn commissions. Our income comes solely from our educational programmes.

How We Work

Our Standards and Approach

The principles that guide how we design, deliver, and follow up on every programme we offer.

Educator-Led, Not Sales-Driven

Our educators hold no affiliation with financial product providers. Every recommendation is made in the participant's interest, not in the interest of any third party.

Strict Data Confidentiality

All personal and financial information shared during sessions is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). We do not share client data with any third party.

Curriculum Updated Annually

We review all workshop materials each year to reflect changes in Malaysian tax regulations, EPF policies, lending frameworks, and best practices in personal finance education.

Participant Feedback Collected

Every programme ends with a structured feedback process. We use participant input to refine and improve each workshop on an ongoing basis.

Structured Methodology

Our workshops follow a consistent session structure with defined learning outcomes for each stage. Participants receive written materials and follow-up templates to support continued application after the programme ends.

Culturally Adapted Content

All examples, case studies, and financial scenarios used in our workshops are drawn from the Malaysian context — referencing EPF, ASB, PTPTN, local lending norms, and culturally relevant financial customs.

Financial Education in Kuala Lumpur

Personal finance education in Malaysia has grown considerably as a field in recent years, driven by a wider recognition that financial literacy is foundational to long-term wellbeing. Yet many individuals still struggle to access structured guidance that addresses their specific circumstances — not generic advice, but a considered process that begins with where they actually are.

Fundwise occupies a particular space in this landscape. We are not a financial services provider. We do not manage investments or sell insurance. What we offer is educational in nature: a structured process for understanding your financial position, clarifying your objectives, and developing a coherent approach to managing your money over time.

Our focus on debt recovery planning reflects the reality that many Malaysians are managing significant obligations — from housing loans and vehicle financing to personal credit and PTPTN balances — often without a clear framework for understanding how to prioritise and address them. Our workshops provide that framework in a calm, respectful environment.

For organisations, the corporate financial wellness space represents a growing area of employee support. Employers who invest in their workforce's financial literacy often see measurable improvements in focus, morale, and long-term retention. Our on-site delivery model makes it straightforward to integrate into existing HR and wellbeing initiatives.
